Youth Programming

For the past eight years, 541’s Youth Program has offered a safe, welcoming space for young people to connect, grow, and belong. The program included weekly drop-in youth programming as well as seasonal offerings such as the Teen Leadership Camp.

As of the end of this year, the Youth Program will be coming to a close as we refocus our efforts on sustaining and strengthening the cafe. This decision was made with care and gratitude for the impact the program has had and the young people who shaped it.

A full reflection on the legacy of the Youth Program will be shared on our blog in the new year.

541 is situated on the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Mississaugas. This land is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, which was an agreement between the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabek to share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. We further acknowledge that this land is covered by the Between the Lakes Purchase, 1792, between the Crown and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We acknowledge our position as settlers on this land, and the harm that has been and continues to be caused by the breaking of these treaties.
